The plinth heights of Rams' Braun audio 1 and PC 5 recordplayer (both 1962) corresponded to that of the endplates of his Vitsœ 606 shelving system designed two years earlier. The idea was that these audio elements might be integrated directly into the shelving system, supported by endplates with a small return. Similarly, the 67 cm width of the L 46 loud speaker was intended to span a bay of the shelving system. Vitsœ mounting plates were produced allowing the speaker units to be fixed within the system on pins.
60s Braun audio equipment remains mountable within current production Vitsœ systems. Please use the request form on this page for further information on integratable designs.
